Buying contacts online may seem daunting at first, but it’s easy to do and the savings are substantial. The contacts you order will be placed in your eyes, so make sure you have a valid prescription and you choose an online retailer that is well-known and has a great reputation.
Before Buying Contacts Online
Before you order contacts from any website, it is important to make sure that your prescription is up-to-date and valid. People who wear contacts are more likely to get eye infections than those who wear glasses, so annual eye exams are especially important even if you are planning to order your contacts online.
Comparing Contact Lens Prices
If you’ve never bought contacts before and don’t know anyone who can recommend a good site to you, visiting a price-comparison website is a great way to get a feel for the options that are available to you. All you have to do is enter the brand name of the contacts you want to buy and the site will tell you who is selling that brand and about how much they charge per box. Most of these sites also include reviews so you can get an idea whether the site that offers the lowest price on the contacts you want is reputable. It’s best to choose a well-known site because they are more likely to have your contact size in stock and they usually offer excellent customer service.
When you’re comparing contact lens companies, make sure that your comparisons are fair. The lenses you are comparing should be the exact same brand and style. Check that the same number of lenses will be included in the order. There may be differences in shipping or processing fees, so make sure that you will truly be getting the best value before choosing where to place your order.
Ordering Contact Lenses Online
Once you have found the contacts you want to buy at a reputable website, the next step is to place your order. Some retailers give discounts to people who order multiple boxes at the same time, so you may consider purchasing all of the contacts you need for a year in the same order to get the discount.
Most sellers will also give you a shipping date when you are in the process of placing your order. Most of the time the lenses you are ordering will be in stock and will be shipped within one or two business days. The company will also check with your eye doctor to ensure that your prescription is valid. Double-check that you the information you have entered during the ordering process is correct before completing the payment process. Your lenses are likely to arrive at your home within a week after your order is processed.

Good tips. We have looked into this but we have found that it really only works if you have a weak prescription. My hubby has pretty bad eyes and he can never find anyone that carries his strength.
