The basic ingredients are flour, egg, fat and dry milk. You will also need to decide which liquid you would like to add to your mix. Liquids to consider include water, milk and broth.
There are various kinds of flour available. You need to determine which you feel is best for your pet. A few to consider include whole-wheat flour, potato flour or simply, all-purpose flour.
Just like flour, there numerous kinds of fats as well. Several fats that you may want to consider are corn oil, canola oil, animal fat through meat or olive oil. A liquid such as water, milk or broth is added for moisture. Using whole eggs is recommended and lastly you will need dry milk.
Other ingredients will need to be added by you to improve the taste of your dog food. These ingredients need to be foods that your dog likes. Foods such as, puréed vegetables, fruit or meat are great additives.

An Easy to Follow Wet/Dry Dog Food Recipe
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
You will be combining the dry ingredients in one bowl and the wet ingredients in another.
Dog Food Dry Ingredients
6 cups of flour, any combination of different kinds
1 cup of dry milk
Wet Ingredients
3 extra large eggs
1/3 cup of oil
2 1/2 cups of your liquid of choice
Now, mix the dry and wet ingredients together. This will make dough. You want the dough to be similar to bread dough, thick and moist. Now, mix in the additional ingredients you have decided on. If you do not have the right consistency, you can slowly add flour or water, depending.
Spread your dough on a cookie sheet until it is approximately 1/2 an inch thick. Now put it into your preheated oven and cook it for 45 minutes. After pulling it out, let it cool. Once cool, you can break it into bite size pieces and store it in Ziploc bags or a covered container.
Serve it as is for dry dog food or moisten it using water for wet dog food.
You should never feed certain foods to your dog. These foods include onions, chocolate, artificial fats or sweeteners, raisins, grapes and garlic.
